Ask Yourself These Important Questions
John Pastore is helping older adults like himself prepare for emergencies, so they don’t have to suffer a tragic loss as he did.
John’s wife, Elaine, passed away because he wasn’t notified to help share her medical information at a critical moment when she called 911 in 2017. John only found out that emergency services had arrived to help his wife 40 minutes later when a neighbor called to notify him. Had he known at the time of their arrival he could have passed on essential information on medications, past diagnosis, and other details.
John continues to keep the memory of Elaine alive by helping to alive by helping older adults like himself prepare for emergencies, so they don’t have to suffer a tragic loss as he did.
He's doing that by sharing the simple Emergency Info Plan that anyone can have access to. This plan assures that emergency contacts are notified, medical information is available, everyone knows your location, and you can receive the best possible care.
All smartphones have an emergency information area available so emergency services can quickly and easily access them. However, each device has a slightly different access point and not all emergency personnel are trained to use all devices.
“It’s so amazing to me that these things have been out there for years and people don’t know about them and it is a shame.”
That’s why John teamed up with Matt Melton to create Emergency Info Plan Stickers. These simple stickers help make your medical information easy to find and access. Plus you can make it so when this is accessed your emergency contacts are automatically notified. It will even send them your location so loved ones can come to help as needed.
“A sticker is simple. It can go on the back of your phone and it explains how to access the information. Even though there is this free service on all phones, I’ve only found about 20 people who had it set up right even though it has been available since 2017.”
