"If one thing I learned these past years is that you can't stay still. You need to be in constant movement; it's not about how much you can do but about what you do. When I became a widower 11 years ago, as I live alone because all my kids are grownups, I had to figure out ways to use my time. That's when I started riding my bike, going out for walks, taking English courses, among other things. After my daughter insisted a few times, I started with Pilates. Pilates helped me as a distraction, it helped me understand that my body is not the same as years ago, and that's okay. For me, it's important that people understand that Pilates is not a mobile bed that moves according to the instructions they give you. Pilates is an instrument for your body. During the first years, I remember that I focused on being in the same rhythm as the young people in the class, people who were 20 – or more – years younger than me. I did exactly the same. Until the past two years where I realized I didn't have that energy. I needed to do the exercises at my own pace, and that is something I greatly enjoy. Nowadays, I go to Pilates twice a week. I also love riding my bike through the city. I usually go to the Rosedal on Saturdays with my bike. I'm also a volunteer at Beethoven foundation, an organization that broadcasts important operas such as the Metropolitan Opera of New York, among others. I'm the "Che pibe" of the foundation (translates into office boy – doing errands) and it makes me happy."

Rafael's advice: "You are a human being who walks, who breathes, who looks, and who hears, MOVE"
