Chief Medical Officer from Michigan Shares a Vaccine Update on GetSetUp's Session Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021

GetSetUp News Feb 08, 2021

GetSetUp is the trusted platform for older adults to learn new skills and socialize with their peers. That’s why we are stepping up to help older adults learn how to book their vaccine appointment. The process to get information and book an appointment has been confusing, anxiety-inducing, and often near impossible to navigate for those without technical skills or someone to help them.

Starting last week we took action! Millions of learning moments have already improved the lives of older adults on GetSetUp and now our Vaccine Information sessions are easing worries over COVID-19 vaccines. Through live online Covid-19 Vaccine Information sessions older adults learn where to go for information in their area and how to navigate their state or county’s process for scheduling a vaccine, and have some of their questions answered.

Health Experts Join GetSetUp Vaccine Information Sessions

Thanks to the support of local health officials in various states we are able to share first hand knowledge of vaccine processes by those who have been on the frontlines. This adds another great layer of local support to each community.

Keep in mind, none of our sessions are providing any medical advice or providing the vaccine itself, instead, we are offering information.  Each person should speak to their specific health provider about their specific health situation.

Sessions are free 30-60 minute informational sessions where we:

  1. Review local vaccine procedures and steps
  2. Provide walkthroughs of local agency websites and forms
  3. Demonstrate how to book a vaccine appointment
  4. Answer questions and hear locals share their experiences
